
Most saw this coming, many had hoped for a surprise from Oakland Athletics’ general manager Billy Beane and few thought he wouldn’t make a move when it came to A’s starter Scott Kazmir. However, Beane has done as expected, and the left-handed Kazmir is now officially a member of the Houston Astros.
After news of the Kazmir trade were made public a few things were left somewhat unclear, especially when it comes to the unpredictable and often creative Beane. Is this simply the beginning of a big A’s fire sale? Perhaps Beane has a goal in mind and this is just the beginning of a series of necessary moves to accomplish it? Or will Kazmir be the only move the A’s make?
